DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) provides technical assistance to state and local jurisdictions that enables them to adopt renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies.

Building Energy Codes Technical Assistance

EERE's Building Energy Codes Program provides computer programs and training materials that help building code officials and construction companies comply with residential building energy codes and publishes reports about state experiences with new codes.

Clean Cities Tiger Teams

DOE's Clean Cities provides technical assistance to Clean Cities coalition partners and fleet owners on the use of alternative fuels, idle reduction, and other strategies to reduce petroleum consumption for transportation. Energy TechNet — Technical Assistance to Inventors by State

EERE's Inventions & Innovation Program provides technical assistance and some financial support to inventors to help them move their ideas to the marketplace.

FEMP Project Assistance

EERE's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) provides a broad range of technical services to federal facilities managers to adopt renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. Many of these services, such as FEMP training, are also available to state facilities managers.

Technical Assistance Project (TAP) for State and Local Officials

The DOE Weatherization and Intergovernmental Program provides state and local officials with quick, short-term access to experts in DOE national laboratories to help with renewable energy and energy efficiency policies and programs.

Weatherization Assistance Program Technical Assistance Center (WAPTAC)

WAPTAC provides technical assistance to local weatherization agencies and links state agencies to all the DOE regulations and rulings that are required to administer the program. In addition, local weatherization agencies can obtain training for technicians from weatherization training centers.
