About State Energy Alternatives
The State Energy Alternatives web site is intended to provide state and local decision makers with the following:
- A brief, non-technical overview of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies;
- An objective and policy neutral description of public policies that may affect the use of alternative energy technologies; and
- A snapshot of the alternative energy resource base in each state.
Information on this site is framed in terms intended to be understood easily by non-technical readers.
State Energy Alternatives was developed by the State and Local Initiatives group (SALI) at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, in collaboration with the National Conference of State Legislatures. Programs in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) at the U.S. Department of Energy provided funding. SALI thanks those at EERE who have made this site possible and gratefully acknowledges their support.
