Types of assistance offered: Business Advice, Mentoring, Success Stories, Technical Assistance Email address: info@rimes.org Web address: http://rimes.org/ Program description: In 1994, a group of RI manufacturers, recognizing that they faced many of the same business challenges, provided start-up funds and presented the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) service model to the Governor, the General Assembly, Representatives of Congress, and the University of Rhode Island (URI). They next developed a strategic plan and applied for federal funding, which the State of Rhode Island received in 1996.
RIMES established operations in June of 1996 at URI in Kingston, RI and, as demand for its services increased, subsequently moved to Providence. Since its inception, RIMES has evolved from a small engineering services organization to a full-service strategic manufacturing solutions provider. Led by its 17-member Board of Directors, RIMES now operates from its headquarters facility at Quonset Point in North Kingstown, RI, near the RI Economic Development Corporation.
RIMES provides complete manufacturing solutions to Rhode Island's small and medium-size manufacturers, helping them solve business problems and raise their level of competitiveness and profitability. Since 1996, we've been out there - rolling up our sleeves and working side by side with over 600 Rhode Island manufacturers.
