Types of assistance offered: Business Advice, Mentoring, Technical Assistance Web address: http://www.atn.auburn.edu/ Program description: Alabama Technology Network (ATN) is a not-for-profit organization composed of ten centers that links the University of Alabama System, Auburn University, the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama, and two-year colleges. The ATN centers work in a coordinated effort to improve economic development opportunities in the state.
ATN recognizes that often many small manufacturers work with little input from other businesses, consultants, or other sources of insight and comparison. To overcome this situation, ATN has a network of contacts and resources within and outside the ATN centers.
Field engineers operating from ATN centers offer a wide range of technical expertise to help manufacturers improve their global competitiveness. The ATN centers provide a variety of services, which include: providing on-site technical consultations, conducting detailed needs assessments, outlining potential solutions, providing technical assistance to solve problems, identifying external service providers as needed, and providing worker training to improve skills and productivity.
