Program description: The Manufacturing Technology Program (MTP) works to improve the competitiveness of California's small and medium sized (SME) manufacturing firms through regional not-for-profit service providers in Northern and Southern California.
Operating in partnership with the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Program, MTP provides small and medium-sized manufacturers with access to a wide range of inexpensive high-quality business assistance including technical consultative services, work force training, and professional development.
A wide range of high-value consulting, work force training, and professional development services for small and medium size manufacturers are available, designed to improve the productivity and competitiveness of California manufacturers. These include:
* information technology services
* quality management services
* strategic business services
* lean enterprise services
* workforce training and professional development
* energy efficiency and conservation audits
California manufacturers seeking assistance to improve their overall competitiveness should contact a regional MTP office. Southern California firms should contact the California Manufacturing Technology Center (CMTC), while Northern California firms are requested to contact the Corporation for Manufacturing Excellence (MANEX).
