Program description: The Region 2000 Technology Council is an association of diverse businesses and organizations working together to ensure the continued growth and long-term competitiveness of Region 2000's dynamic technology-based economy. Mission: Create an environment that fosters innovation and growth and promotes the effective development and use of technology in Region 2000. Develop a collaborative environment that enhances public awareness of the role of technology in business, education, government, and the community. Actively promote initiatives that enhance the availability and application of technology within the region. Objectives: Promote the development, growth, and recognition of technology organizations in Region 2000 Serve as a public policy advocate for a broad range of technology issues at the state and local level Provide a forum in which technology organizations can exchange ideas and information, and capitalize on business opportunities Deliver programs and services that promote the recognition of and provide substantial value to the Council's members Provide educational programs, networking opportunities, and relevant information to the region Increase the number and competitiveness of Region 2000 technology organizations Link Region 2000 technology organizations with investors, legislators, educators, support organizations, and other critical resources to foster growth and entrepreneurship Participate in the Virginia Technology Alliance to drive visibility and awareness of the Region 2000 Technology Council, its members, and the region to other regions within the state.
