China
Industrial Energy Efficiency
In September 2007, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and China's National Development and Reform Commission signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate on Industrial Energy Efficiency. U.S. and Chinese experts will share best practices on energy efficiency in industry. See the full text of the MOU (PDF 40 KB).

Biofuels
In December 2007, DOE and USDA signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) to strengthen and expand cooperation on biofuels production and use. See the full text of the MOU (PDF 109 KB).

Vehicles
In September 2007, DOE renewed a vehicle annex with China's Ministry of Science and Technology under the U.S.-China Protocol for Cooperation in the Fields of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Technology Development and Utilization. The annex has the long-term goals of promoting large-scale deployment in the People's Republic of China and in the United States of electric-drive and fuel cell vehicle technologies for applications in light duty passenger and business vehicles, buses, and other forms of transportation.
