Integration Technology Development

Interconnection and control technologies are vital to the effective integration of distributed energy resources. However, these technologies are only beginning to be available for the many uses required today.

Through the support of its interconnection and control technology activities, DOE hopes to meet its goal of developing a modular interconnection technology that can provide reasonably priced interconnection for all distributed generation sources while increasing functionality for energy management and grid support. Work in this area also includes the development of advanced control and monitoring technologies and operational concepts to enhance the integration and aggregation of distributed energy resources with electric power systems.
