Electrical Systems Integration

Although distributed energy resources offer a variety of benefits in standalone applications, they can provide much more value when they are integrated into electric power systems.

The Distributed Energy Program has supported the development of technologies and policies that enable distributed generation, storage, and direct load control technologies to be incorporated into the electric system. This research has focused on interconnection standards development, integration technology development, and technology testing and validation.
