The Building Technologies Program works with state and local regulatory groups and other interested parties to improve building codes, appliance and equipment standards, and guidelines for efficient energy use. These efforts lay the groundwork for reduced energy use and lower operating costs.

Building Energy Codes
A wide array of tools are available to facilitate building energy code development, adoption, implementation, and enforcement:
  • Compliance tools include REScheck and COMcheck software
  • Training tools include training presentations, videos, and consumer education
  • Implementation tools include DOE determinations, DOE assistance, and resource materials
Appliances and Commercial Equipment Standards
