Fluorescent and Incandescent Lamps Public Meeting

Purpose: The Department will hold an informal public meeting as a first step in the rulemaking process to amend energy conservation standards for general service fluorescent lamps, incandescent reflector lamps, and general service incandescent lamps.

Please note that foreign nationals visiting DOE Headquarters are subject to advance security screening procedures. If you are a foreign national and wish to attend this meeting, please inform DOE of this fact as soon as possible by contacting Ms. Brenda Edwards-Jones at (202)586-2945 so that the necessary procedures can be completed.

A notice of public meeting and availability of the Framework Document for these lamps was published in the Federal Register on May 31, 2006. The Department is initiating the rulemaking process to amend energy conservation standards for these products.

Meeting Materials

To inform stakeholders and facilitate this process, the Department has prepared a Framework Document. The focus of the public meeting will be to discuss the analyses and issues identified in various sections of the Framework Document. The Department encourages those who wish to participate in the public meeting to obtain the Framework Document and be prepared to discuss its contents. Written comments are also encouraged and should be received by June 29, 2006.

To Submit Comments

You may submit comments electronically, by hand delivery, by mail, or by courier by June 29, 2006. Wherever possible, comments in the electronic format should carry the electronic signature of the author. Absent an electronic signature, comments submitted electronically must be followed and authenticated by submitting a signed original paper document. Comments should be submitted with reference to the docket number EE-2006-STD-0131 and/or RIN number 1904-AA92 by the following methods:
