Residential Furnaces and Boilers Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANOPR)

Following the Framework Document, the Department of Energy is now publishing its Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANOPR). The ANOPR is the first stage of the overall standards rulemaking process. This will be followed by a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR) and a final rule. At the ANOPR stage, the Department carries out several analyses, including the Engineering Analysis, the Life-Cycle Cost Analysis, and the National Impact Analysis. Stakeholders are invited to review the ANOPR documents and the analytical tools, participate in webcasts, attend the public meetings, and submit comments on the Department's analysis.
