The Rhode Island legislature meets annually from the first working day of January to late June. During the session, the governor must sign or veto legislation within six days after transmittal (except Sundays) or it becomes law without signature. For bills transmitted after session adjournment, the governor must act within 10 days after transmittal or the legislation becomes law without signature.
