Last Updated March 2007

The Arkansas legislature meets in odd-numbered years from mid-January until the end of April. During the session, the governor must sign or veto legislation within five days of transmittal (except Sundays), or it becomes law without signature. If legislation is transmitted with less than five days left in the session, the governor must act within 20 days of transmittal (except Sundays), or legislation becomes law without signature.
