State Ethanol Feedstock Resources

Ethanol feedstock resources are distributed throughout the United States, with particularly high concentrations in the Midwest, Southeast, and Northwest. The map below shows U.S. biomass resources, most of which could be used for ethanol production. Use the State Assessment for Biomass Resources tool to view state maps of potential biomass feedstock and ethanol production. This tool can also help state planners evaluate potential fuel markets based on locations of fueling stations and flexible fuel vehicles. Also see the report A Geographic Perspective on the Current Biomass Resource Availability in the United States (PDF 2.5 MB). Download Adobe Reader.
