Technical Assistance

The Clean Cities Program has a Technical Assistance group (a team of experts in the petroleum displacement arena, who form individual project-teams called, "Tiger Teams")that assists fleets in successfully implementing petroleum displacement programs. This effort was initiated because many coalitions experienced problems with installing alternative fuels infrastructure and had technical issues arise related to alternative fuel vehicles. The Tiger Teams concept was developed to help coalitions face and overcome these obstacles.

One of the main areas of focus for the Tiger Teams is technical problem solving related to infrastructure operations. These problems can be related to fueling station design and site issues, interaction with alternative fuel providers and fire safety code officials, fueling station performance and maintenance requirements, user/operator training, etc.
